With camera and network surveillance now commonplace, and database abuse continuing to appear, how do we balance the positive side of security along with its potential for abuse?

The surveillance equipment mentioned in the article are mostly on private property where individual business owners are trying to protect their interests...what's wrong with that????

The Dutch "birth till death" database is expected of a liberal European nation...as long as it stays there...
