Bull! The security issues of the 1970's have long been solved and forgotten. 99% of the security problems we have today are related to the Internet. The Internet didn't even exist back then.
"Viruses, Worms, etc. All of these can be avoided"
Yea right! Do you really belive that the answers to all of these problems have been solved but the Antivirus makers are keeping them from us so they can sell their software? Or maybe you think that software vendors know how to write secure software, they just choose not to?
The real problems lie in the fact that a software developer cannot possibly think of every concievable way that any given piece of code can be attacked. Heck, we can't even think of all the valid reasons people need to access the Internet for work purposes. The best we can hope for is to write for known issues and adjust when some cunning hacker shows us a new way.
