Users inundated with pop-ups
Scott Granneman, 2005-12-12

There are many examples where users are now being inundated with pop-up messages asking them to respond to things they don't know about or don't understand, and it leads to weaker security overall.

Agreed, but there is another VERY good idea from Unix'es - modules. For example - when you're setting up FreeBSD you'll have to setup a basic core and add and add modules, components and packages - until you'll find yourself looking at the exatly system you wanted. Why not to choose what components - in Windows, in IE, e.t.c. - you WISH to be installed and resources you wish to spend for them? There is no need - IMHO - in many modules you'll never use, and why spend a resources for 'em?
