Users inundated with pop-ups
Scott Granneman, 2005-12-12

There are many examples where users are now being inundated with pop-up messages asking them to respond to things they don't know about or don't understand, and it leads to weaker security overall.

Safari (Mac's default web browser)operates almost the same as Firefox does in the pop-up department (though it's built from Konquerer).

As for the rest of OSX - it's about as dumbed-down as it gets in the new-window-to-ask-questions department.

I do agree about debconf though - it is nice to be able to set it so that the ordinary user can safely not see all but the vital stuff.
