Debunking the WMF backdoor
Thomas C. Greene, 2006-01-23

Claims that the WMF vulnerability was an intentional backdoor into Windows systems makes for an interesting conspiracy theory, but doesn't fit with the facts.

Mr. Greene, I wouldn't be surprised if you get sued for this. 2006-01-25

Nonsense. First, there is no "Gibson's article", it's a podcast audio interview/chat session of Gibson by Tech TV. Gibson's site just provides written transcripts and an MP3 archive of the podcasts.

Second, there are probably several zillion locally cached copies of the podcast out there now, including the one on my PC which I downloaded about 20 hrs after the podcast (I'm not a regular subscriber to these podcasts nor Gibson's site in general). I, and every other listener, can attest that the MP3 of the podcast still available on Gibson's site is the same as the original, and that the written transcript is a fair rendition of the podcast, and also has not changed.

Of course since these podcast interviews are done weekly, there have been two more since, but the controversial one is still there and hasn't changed one whit.

By the way, archive.org's most recent snapshot of grc.com is from March last year, so you yourself obviously didn't bother to check before making your insinuation. I guess accuracy wasn't a concern, huh?
