Speaking of virtual worlds making real money you forgot THE greatest ones: stock exchanges. What are they other than virtual worlds?
For example, the rising price of oil made hundreds of billions of dollars to some, based purely on speculations that somebody will do this or that, while the produciton of oil has actually risen.
