Phishing works for so many reasons, we need to rethink browser and user interface design to provide some real-life security to the average user who doesn't see or understand the security cues.

I don't see how any of this information is actually surprising unless you live under a rock infested solely with geeks. Until the issue consistently gets more attention in mainstream media there are going to be many people who just don't understand/care because it hasn't yet affected them in a major way. Even at that point there will still be plenty who don't understand/care.
