A recent lawsuit filed against Microsoft should have all companies reexamining their privacy policies to determine what information they are actually collecting about customers, and what they can possibly do with it.

Stand by for heavy rolls, Microsoft - this causes a serious problem.
Here's what happened to me:
I have a fully legal / licensed Dell 4700 with Dell's default install. I had (of course) kept up with all the critical patches. However, in the course of installing some software for testing I ran into some problems best fixed by rolling back the computer using the handy Microsoft function to a period 60 days ago - before Windows Disadvantage was posted.
Microsoft was kind enough, on reboot, to warn me that I had a pirated OS. I was very very puzzled, and seriously doubted Michael Dell put pirated copies on his Dimension 4700s.
So I tried a restore from my backup server (disk image).
SAME problem - unauthorized copy. A DISK IMAGE produced the useless, irritating, warning.
Microsoft is 100% correct. I had to resort to reformatting and reinstalling the OS.
***This is hideous of Microsoft***
If you have a sacrificial lamb computer, try rolling back and have some fun. Not.
Mr Rasch - if you want more information on this new "feature" feel free to contact bill "at" kennon.net
