So you believe that by not buying their product, thereby eliciting a response to their loss of profits, will evoke a negative response from them? They do not need us to provide them with the incentive. And if they, or any other corporation, wish to start a hacking war with the independent, somewhat self-righteous geeks out here, let them bring it on. Some corporations will not behave even if we give them all of our money. Most of the time you will only need to expose them, as Sony was; although if that is not enough, they are a big target. There are (not me I don't have the talent)folk out here who could literally destroy their presence as a corporation. I am saying that some of us have to do the internet equivalent of throwing our bodies in from of the bull-dozers. Companies can say the loss of moola is a bad experience, but how they response depends upon the ethics of their officers. Obviously the ethics of the Sony officers are at the low end. I don't buy Sony products anymore. I watch them carefully. I have given PGP to friends as a present for their personal holidays. I advocate the use of encrytion. I don't advocate all out hack war with them, but I do have the vision that if they don't behave it is coming. I believe in taking the miscreants to court. If boycott and court doesn't work, then we have to separate biz and state; we have to vote some of the rascals in the senate and house out. We have to take down folks like the Sony folk. I also advocate buying stock in public companies to affect their policies. You are obviously a defeatish or stooge of Sony. I don't make that charge lightly. Let me translate what you said. We should not punish corporations like Sony for bad behavior because they will feel threatened and do more bad things. That philosophy is full of sheet music. No wonder you post anonymously. I would be ashamed to post such defeatist attitudes.
