I am not a hacker. I administer computers and write software. I think you make some great points with this article, though. When most people talk about something being "user friendly", they tend to mean "new user friendly". I work with computers during most of my waking hours. So, "user friendly" to me, I guess, means "expert friendly". I look for software that requires minimal time/effort to use -- even if it has a steep innitial learning curve. I vastly prefer using Linux to the other operating systems I have tried.
