That really isn't the case. You don't really have a choice in operating systems because developers develop their applications to the lowest common denominator, Windows. So, if you want to run normal business applications or the latest games you will be forced into buying Windows.

Before anyone points out all the Open Source software that does the same thing don't bother. I use almost all Open Source software every chance I get but until people realize that they can use packages other than Microsoft to get their work done they will continue to be held hostage.

As Mark pointed out, go see Happy Feet and then download something associated with a little penguin.

As an aside if you get a chance to hear Mark in person it is well worth it. (Unless you get him started on baseball.) :-)
