The word "likely" should be understood as an expression of probability not of ability:

I think it is reasonable to claim that more often than not, men do the tech stuff. This observation cannot be used to conclude that men are more able than their female counterpart. They may be highly incompetent, yet do it anyway.

So, assuming we have an average case of a couple with a computer, then my statement is a reasonable guess without knowing further details.

Secondly, after the Paris Hilton case and others - and even without - I find it so unlikely that anyone would sell their computer knowing that it contained such information.

Sharing the computer could explain why she did not know, assuming somebody else did the tech stuff could explain why she didn't think of cleaning the computer.

Scott assumes that none of these applies, blaming her for negligence. I think at least one must apply, and possibly both. And I don't think it reasonable to blame her right away.

With all respect, I actually felt that Scott took advantage using the "stupid blonde" stereo type which I think is not fair.

And btw: Not doing tech-stuff does not qualify a person for being stupid - blonde or not.
