Don't buy any computer that has Vista 2008-02-19

I remember buying computers in the past costing way less money and running far more efficiently. I also recalled getting Printed Tutorials, Manuals and Software CDs with my purchase. Now when you buy a PC they just give you the computer.
For instance, as recently as December 2007 I purchased 2 laptops when I traveled to the U.S., a Sony VAIO and a HP. Both laptops were expensive, came with pre installed with Vista and only trial software. So in other words after 30 days or so you have to go on-line to purchase everything else. (Certainly set-up to exploit the customer.)

The spanking new Sony VAIO crashed in the first week after I bought it, I had to call customer support to get it re-started. Generally, it takes 10 minutes for the VAIO to get booted up and even longer to shut down. My girlfriend, who got the HP Laptop is now franticly searching for a version of Windows XP to purchase to make her computing experience less stressful.

Vista is expensive, and maneuvers badly. I am returning my laptop to Sony for a refund,

In the end Thomas C. Green is telling the truth... Vista is too expensive and even if it wasn?t it still performs badly. I am returning the VAIO to SONY because I am not satisfied with the overall performance of my ?Expensive Purchase?. I want a refund or a replacement laptop without Vista.
