Magic lantern is not the best n badest thing to come along. It is the governments way of filling in the gaps in the information it already has.
They can already monitor every packet you send/receive. the only problem is encrypted traffic. This solution to that problem is, I grant you, sly, sneeky and underhanded but as I mentioned above the governments been at that a long time now.
As long as AV companies can detect ML and variants they will have a long and prosperous future at the expense of U.S. companies either forced to comply or too ingorant of the consiquences to say NO.
Vote with your $'s people. You don't like what an AV company does, chose another product.
