I admit it: I own an iPhone. Indeed, I bought one the day they came out. No, I didn’t wait in line for hours; I just walked into the local Apple store, plunked down my life’s savings, and voila, another AT&T customer!

Apple's self help is, as you suggest, unfair; but what about Apple's unwillingness to repair a broken/damaged unlocked iPhone, when the damage has nothing to do with the unlocking?

I know Apple is the Death Star in this metaphor, and they have infinitely more resources to throw at legal maneuvering than us mere mortals. Yet I want to believe sense must reign somewhere.

Is someone sueing? Are they looking for injured parties?
