So, if we are to sue vendors for bad software, does that mean that we can sue *YOU* for bad articles?

Aside from the horribly misplaced analogy of cars:software, your article contains both spelling and grammar errors, yet you published it anyway. Do I get to haul you into court now?

Are you absolved from writing good content because of your license agreement with Security Focus, or are you absolved from writing good content because you don't know any better?

Your credentials note that you are a "research fellow" but I have a hard time believing that. If you had done any research before flippantly writing down your opinions,
you would see that your resolution of suing software vendors for security issues would result in almost all software vendors being taken to court. While you try to slander Microsoft in your dissertation, you also included Sun and every distro of Linux as well. Oh, and every commercial software vendor in existence. Oops, and every shareware author. Yikes, and every web application developer. And probably every company that has a web site.

Please point us to the software that you have written that is completely free of bugs. Please point us to your solutions. Please point us to something that indicates that
you are not completely full of your own credentials.

I code for a living, and I about fed up with empty mouths armed with their Harvard diplomas telling me how I will be damned to hell should I make a programming error.
Do you even know how to code? Of course not, or you would not write something like this. This is like a child psychologist who has no children telling parents that they should be sued for making mistakes when raising their young.

Harvard is a grand learning institution. I suggest you make use of it before you write again.
