The Australian government is considering requiring that Internet service providers in that country install filters which would prevent citizens from accessing tens of thousands of sites that contain "objectionable" material.

100% agree with this article, this is a very slippery slope that starts with the best intentions. We have seen what things like the patriot act born with the business case of fighting terrorism can do to individual privacy. Hopefully there is enough protect and opposition to this stop it from becoming reality.
