I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and trust you are using "ignorant" in it's real meaning ;-)
Yes, I plead ingnorance of knowing the man. I was basing my opinions on Microsoft's track record for security as I believe that people in responsible positions are responsible. Based on what I've read here I'll trust that the man is leaving MS because he got tired of fighting a loosing battle and *his* bosses refusing to listen to him. And wait to see what news comes from D.C.
