I'd just like to comment upon this from a different direction. Too many people take the DEFAULT setup for their email and their newsgroup readers and use it AS IS, to send out email and newsgroup posts/replies. The problem is, most of the email/newsgroup tools out there (at least the players with the greatest percentage of users) have a default of HTML. It only takes a few seconds to go in and change that default to TEXT-only. This alone will not only save processing time and `bandwidth'; but also cut down on the number of HTML files winging their way around the net. This is A Good Thing.

Now if only the major players would set their DEFAULTS in these tools to be TEXT-only...
