Pegasus Mail 4.0 (http://www.pmail.com/) is immune to HTML problems -- although it will display HTML mail with embedded graphics fine, it will not fetch graphics from another computer and it doesn't execute any scripts (Javascript or VBS). This means users of PMail are free from web-bug tracking as well as free from the fear of being nailed by a scripted trojan or virus.

Good stuff ... and it's free. The author sells manuals for both PMail and his Mercury mail server and has a support consortium for larger environments.
