I believe we're making good progress regarding IT Security, we are really learning from other peoples mistakes, and trying not to make the same ones.
One of our biggest problems down here is information sharing.
Some people believe that if they share knowledge it could mean money loss.
They're not in the IT business to learn, help others or to try and improve anything, they are it for the money.
Others still believe that the best security police is to hiding info, instead of sharing with other that might be facing the same problem or even have the solution for that problem.

What we need here in Brazil is a IT Security Comitee.
Some where that IT professionals could share information without worrying about money loss. Some thing like security focus.
But don't worry I'm working on it...
