CISSP Exam is meant more for people who use security in a broader perspective not in specific aspect of security. For example, a firewall administrator does not qualify to get that cert and should not even try for it. Similarly, Windows End User Support person taking and bitching about "Implementing and Administering a Microsoft Windows 2000 Network Infrastructure" exam.
No one should be forced in taking certs. You should always evaluate how it would benefit you and only you.
They do have defined passing score of 700 out of 1000. Microsoft or Cisco don't tell you how much each question valued. Big deal that you find out how much you scored. When was the last time anyone cared if you passed with 90% or just the passing grade?
