IIS means looking for troble. Yes, you can protect it (somewhat), but still doesn't get even close to the rock solid Apache on bsd or linux. Example. I have two web servers. NT4/IIS with all security patches and Slackware linux. Installed at the same time (3 years ago) Guess how many times re-booted Linux box? Twice, and that was for kernel update. On other hand, I'm lucky if I can keep NT box up more that a month. I'd say kick management for not letting admins to move over to the cheaper, faster, more secure...system (*bsd/linux).
