If the basic premise of an OS or NOS is ease of use, and little or no thought was given to SECURITY from inception on, by the time the product is on the street, it is to late. Security will always be an afterthought and not an integral part of the system.
A standard install of Netware give one person and only one person rights to the server. The person that installed it, usually admin. If security holes are found in it later it is because someone put them their. Microsoft and companies like Novell have fundamental differences to security. To one ease of use (marketing talk, meaning we can convince people that they know how to install a server and run it that could not find a computer in a room full of typewriters)is next to Godliness, to the other Security is a top priority right from the get go. Netware has flaws and they have patches, just a lot less of them.
