Teaching the Rules of the Road

Bad system administrators affect more than their own computers -- they make the entire Internet a little less safe.

Good article.

Problem is, quite a few want to drive a car that's easy to steal because it has nicer furry dice.

A few of them know the theft problems so they add a zone alarm and perhaps AVS to warn when people are near it.

Most thieves steal the easy fords (they can get the tools of the trade cheaply) - until someone decreed that meant every ford came with a zone alarm and AVS, and so the thieves learnt how to break into ZA protected cars by bypassing them

Then there were lots of fords to steal again. More than before.

Lucky if you don't drive a ford, you can rest easy (because the roads are full of stolen fords so you wouldn't want to drive) but there's no such thing as an unpinchable car sayeth the security site.

Whose to say that the roads ever become safer, surely the thieves just get better....at least while there's the ford popular.
