I understand the point beyond this article as "how many countries could we bombed or even nuked if those damn kids wouldn?t post those money consuming viruses?. Great !
I think that those numbers that u came along with represent the damage done around the world, not only US.
Have u ever considered what those costs would be if there was no Information and Telecommunications Technology (or what r the benefits of the IT). Viruses are only a minor damage compared to the benefits of the IT.
Anyway I must admit , this was very inspiring article (because the comparations made about how bombing around the world is better thing on which u can waste ur money than loosing them on the damage done by some kiddy viruses), so I am starting something very creative now, creation of a new virii. Why ? Becouse i dont care much about the taxpayers somewhere there , taxpayers that may tomorow support bombing in my hometown.
