I think you'll find the number of people
writing exploits fades into insignificance compared with
the number you're actually trying to state - the number of folks exploiting boxes. Most exploits require the ability to
use a browser and an application.
Remember, without an OS you wouldn't be using a computer, a few would, because they'd write their own, the fact they give / sell folk like yourself one is how the numbers grow.
You bought an OS, that hasn't increased the number of people who can write an OS - in the same way, se
