Richard Forno, 2002-07-11

Does the President's Special Advisor on security really understand the issues security professionals are dealing with?

Hmm. Maybe another take on the "Pearl Harbor" comment could be that while the United States lost that particular battle; it inevitiably won the larger war. If any one organization that has been attacked looks at the results they often feel like those residents of Pearl Harbor may have felt; the attack was unexpected and incredibly harsh.

Is there a "right" person to be cyber-security czar? I don't know. Clarke seems to be energetic, talking about issues, and listening to people. He seems to be raising appropriate issues and doing a fine job from where I sit.
