Force every processor and motherboard to only be compliant to MS products? There a little problem that they were having with IE, and it was called a "monopoly". MS also has no control over chip makers. Intel could care less about what software is run on it's systems. Gateway put the sticker on it's box saying "Windows compatible", not Intel. There is no was to change the x86 architecture to favor one OS over another without having to re-write all the current code for that processor. So in short, you are incorrect. Microsoft can not just force every chip maker to only make MS compliant chips. What Microsoft CAN do though is make a new "feature" chip that increases security, but you have to only run MS approved software. So your fake scenario is happening, just with a security camouflage around it.
