Your article is right on point. Howard Schmidt is often referred to by his former Microsoft staff as, "Mr. Smoke and Mirrors". He often refers to himself as the "father of computer forensics", yet he has no credentials, certifications, or work experience that substantiates this claim. A thorough review of his bio would probably warrant a 20/20, Dateline NBC, or 60 minutes feature story. He never touts in his bio that his college degrees are from the University of Phoenix correspondence school. He touts work with the FBI, but you will find he was never an FBI Special Agent, or other federal law enforcement officer of any kind. But, the one thing this guy, with no real computer forensic experience and a very limited law enforcement background, is outstanding at is promoting himself and glad handing people in power. He could sell large quantities of ice to arctic natives in the middle of winter and convince them it is the best deal going. And, if the deal went bad, he could easily find a scapegoat and convince everyone it was not his fault. But, as a taxpayer, it scares me to think this guy is second in command of our nations Critical Infrastructure Protection Board.
