And (I beleive) it's the bad software that attacks you in most of the cases. So, if the owner of the dog is the one to be held responsible - who is the owner of the software? In most of commercial SW used around, the user is only licensed to USE the software, and the owner is somewhere else, eg in Redmond :) And they of course are not responsible - users are well conditioned not only to pay for the license, but to take all the responsibility as well...
