I agree with him to an extent. I used to monitor my IIS logs to see who was hitting me with what, only 1 person out of the hundred or so I emailed even replied, they had no idea IIS was even running - "we did notice that our network was slow". :P

What's our recourse? I still am getting a ton of hits from France and China. I've love a utility that would allow me to fire back and disable the boxes in question.

I'm not going to blame MS, I'm going to point the finger at the clueless twits who have boxes online and don't have a clue what services they are running.
