Citing a provision of the Patriot Act, the FBI is sending letters to journalists telling them to secretly prepare to turn over their notes, e-mails and sources to the bureau. Should we throw out the First Amendment to nail a hacker?

The very first hint that the Patriot act might have detrimental effects on our civil liberties was the fact that it was named the Patriot act. The obvious implication was that anyone who opposed it was unpatriotic. This president and his administration scare the hell out of me. ...
