Apple's OS X is not safer or less susceptible to vulnerabilities and viruses than other OSes, and Apple's secretive culture is bad for the security world.

It is the same tired tripe over and over again. What system is more secure than the other, by design I would suggest you all look into OS/400, VM, or OS/JCL. Very few viruses and trojans are written for these platforms. Of course how much fun can it be to write a virus in RPG II/III Cobol or SNOBOL....
