Microsoft's announcement that it will enter the AV market next year, with initial trials starting next week, could be a sign of many things to come.

If MS does offer this AV/AS software as part of the OS, I will be willing to bet it will take a LARGE chunk of the consumer market from McAffee & Symantec. End users most often don't know how good or bad the end product is. What they know is that they have it installed, why buy something else?...
