A recent proposal by the U.S. Department of Justice that would mandate Internet Service Providers to retain certain records represents a dangerous trend of turning private companies into proxies for law enforcement or intelligence agencies against the interests of their clients or customers.

I agree with your thoughts on this. There needs to be a balance, and law enforcement has abilities to force data retention without needing a log of every packet that has moved for 2 years. I think terabytes is an understatement there, were talking petabytes of information to be available to anyone w...
