NVIDIA's beta drivers (100.xx) appear to perform a lot better, the CS:S Video Stress Test was 15x faster when running at 2560x1600 with the new beta drivers. They appeared online at the end of January. I believe ATI have been pretty good with Vista driver support, although I haven't personally tried...
