This is the _worst_ idea I have seen in ages.
Even commercial s/w companies don't work like this, for
very good reasons.
Examples: Lots of sites ran SunOS 4.1.x on old h/w for
years after Sun moved on. Why? because it worked.
Lots of sites used Ingres 6.4 long after...
