How is dumpster diving a social engineering technique??? If Social engineering is defined as the act of manipulating people into performing actions or divulging confidential information, I don't see this with dumpster diving. Dumpter diving is simply a technique used to obtain information that can provide a basis for identity theft, social engineering, or hacking. Dumpster diving alone does not require human interaction.
