The Internet these days is like the wild west, freedom of speech is nice, but the ability to SPAM is not a constitutional right. Many people's biggest complaint about the Internet is SPAM in their email box.

Another thing that is scary is you can get in your inbox email from some foreign country containing something that you wouldn't want in your email. We need a way to control how email is sent, for our own pleasure of using email, and our own safety.

I think the time has come that email should require licensing. I know, more government red tape, but this is the best way to improve the Internet.

Here is what I mean, there should be a email license for Minor's, and that protects them from what email they can receive and send. Another email license for Adults. Both the minor and adult license would limit how much email could be sent in a specific amount of time. This should be set at a generous level, so people can send the email they want to send, but at the same time low enough to prevent them from Spamming. And lastly a professional license for mass email. This would have rules & regulations on how that license would be used, and both major commercial, or charity organizations could have equal access to that license.

I don't want foreign email, money schemes, or what ever having the ability to access my inbox. I hate spam, and spam software can never and will never figure out what is or is not spam, so the only solution is to start at the source, make it impossible to spam in the first place by having license requirements for email.

Is there a better solution? I havn't heard any. What do you think?
