I think that a lot of the companies out there that provide mobility products and mobile workforce support do a pretty good job of covering network security. Fiberlink http://www.fiberlink.com is a good example, however, if you're going to go at it alone, without help, just make sure you know what you're doing. I made that mistake the hard way. Bigfix is a good option as well.
