thanks for this article. Even though alot has been fixed on today's technology against such attacks, as you stated, many of us do NOT understand how it is DONE or how to prevent them.

I am a IRC oper and I see constand DOS and DDOS attacks done daily on the server.Not to mention the many drones and botnets that users do not know about and there for get attacked by them as well.

Keep up the good work in hereand please continue with informing and teaching us the ways of better security.
