Wifi was built to provide wireless connectivity - extended arm of wired world, hence security was not inherent in it, Security was built on top of it.

However as is said by Stephen Barish we really need to study more on wimax.

Wait and watch may prove to be fatal hence more research needed on Wimax.

apart from this there is another line which supports the popular thought "Security is not a technology problem, its a management Problem"

Hence configurations at both ends needs to be appropriate.
