Any US organisation exchanging personal data with Europe must abide by the Safe Harbor (http://www.export.gov/safeharbor/) agreement which requires them to comply with the EU's strict data protection laws. So any information help about European citizens would have to be kept encrypted with restricted access etc, otherwise they could get taken to court in Europe.
