Back in the day, there were requirements for nameservers. You had to have at least three of them, and it was highly recommended that you have them on more than one independent networks. The requirements were dropped for purely financial reasons. Customers of Joker.com just discovered why those requirements were imposed in the first place, and why dropping them was a Bad idea.
