I received a letter in the mail from UT today (July 1, 2006) that my name and social security number had been stolen. What I find especially peculiar about this, though, is that I have never been enrolled, taken a class, applied, or requested any information from the business school from which my data were stolen. I am at a complete loss how the came into possession of my SSN - possibly through the GRE, but that is only a guess. Anyone have any ideas as to what laws UT might be in violation of here and how I might go about seeking redress?
