Ideed this is true. But while this policy is useful for maintaining state secrets, It's also useful for stifling dissent and counter-activity in regards to illegal and immoral activities taken by the Government.

I would rather live in an insecure but free state than one that is ostensibly resistant to any form of terrorism except that perpetrated by the government. This is one of the most fundamental values of the vision of America.
