I am no fan of myspace to say the least, I report inappropriate content frequently, but myspace could care less, even when I reported a 12 yr old completely naked, 3 months later after my report, she was still on., anyhooo. absolutely not, myspace should not be held accountable, for the love of what morals are left in this sick world, if a 14 yr old is going to lie and meet up with a complete stranger then we can simple say "uh-duh" and call it a day. We should start where it begins, AT HOME, 1) why is a 14 yr old and younger in such a need for attention, why are they stooping to very low means to find "love" 2) where is the parent? Let me guess, she or they are one of these morons protesting that they TRUST their child, they KNOW their child etc... ?! Our younger society is so obsessed with searching for love and attention its pathetic. If we actually removed the PC from a childrens bedrooms and/or allowing 24/7 access and try spending TIME with them as families use to once upon a time, they wouldnt be searching for this attention. How many times have we heard a teenager say "I could take care of myself, I dont need you, I want to be be independent, I want to be free" yet, they hook up with the 1st "joe" on the internet to do what, take care of them? As far as im concerned, if these insecure boys and girls think that showing their body and being sexually active with strangers from the internet and something happens to them, I say, they get what they deserve, and for the parent that gives a child a PC and webcam for the bedroom, please, dont cry if your child is missing or god forbid, something worse, I dont pity you, nor do I pity the child, its unfortnate, but if we NEED TO TELL our children "Not to meet strangers on the net, dont show your body in an inappropriate manner on the net" then we are truly insane teaching COMMON SENSE!!!! In a very sick way, although our younger society leaves me no choice... leave them be, if they want to act like a dumb A**, then let them attract all of the pervs, rapists, murderers, stalkers etc..maybe that will keep them away from true innocense. If someone broke into a home and stole a child from their bed, my heart is there, if a 14 yr old who lies, shows inappropriate pics and meets up with a complete stranger and something awful happens, I simply say, oh well..
