Number one; no parent knows where their 14 year old daughter is at every minute of the day. As far as her parents were concerned, she was suppose to be in school. They done their job.
Second, I wonder if your parents listen in on every one of your phone conversation to prevent a so called "date". If your parents do listen into every one of your phone calls, then you have more problems yourself than what this family has that you are bashing.
The parents perhaps could have avoided this by not allowing internet access at all. But then you kids go on it anyways even if it is in school or at a friend's house.
Myspace IS responsible for not enforcing an age separation. Any other good old porne site out there has age verification, credit card verification and on top of it requires you to be 18 to enter.
MySpace promotes minors to enter their site by restricting age to minimum 14. Why? Because it is all for the purpose of making money by attracting certain demographic profiles. How much money do they make off you kids while knowing that they have child molestors and internet predators approach you kids on myspace? Well, let's just say, that lawsuit for $30 million is a meager 1% of the worth of mySpace.
In my opinion, $30 million will not hurt their pocket enough to change their policies and conditions. That family should have sued for $600 million. Only when a business is hurt enough will it change and make it safer for our children.
You can not blame the 14 year old. Only a neglected streetwise kid would have looked through this scam. That girl lived a sheltered life and was naive and gullible to this situation not knowing any better. On top of it, she is not responsible being a child and that means gullible or not.
I'm waiting for you young ladies and gentlemen to one day have a beautiful 14 year old daughter. How will you react if she gets raped in a movie theater perhaps?
That girl fell in love and was completely trusting. I'm sure she did not expect to violently being taken advantage off. She will suffer with that for the rest of her live and future relationships.
Before bashing people like this, perhaps do some research, study hard so you can spell and pray this will not happen some day to your child.
I ran accross this site just once and read all your comments and just had to write this, because I have never seen so many uneducated "morons" in just one single website.
Now you all have a nice day and stay off the weed.
