I think that it's gracious of Microsoft to merely ?restrict? the features of its pirated software, although I?m sure that decision is partly made from a market share standpoint ? by some estimates, one third of the Windows copies world wide are pirated. I do have issue with their inclusion of third party content providers software as part of the ?core? of programs like Media Player 11 though. I uninstalled MP 11 after it kept re-installing URGE every time I deleted it?s shortcuts from my start menu.
If folks want free fully functional operating systems, there are plenty of user friendly alternatives out there. So if you really want to stick it to Bill, get a non-Windows, non-pirated OS.
